Parking and Arrival:

When you arrive at Gethsemane you will find plenty of parking on the East side of the building between the church and Rocky’s Bike Shop. You may enter the building at either the main entrance under the large white portico or on the South side of the building in the alley for handicap accessible, direct access to the elevator. Services are held upstairs in the sanctuary, and a restroom is available on the second floor off the narthex.

Worship:

In the Divine Service, God serves His people by bringing them His gifts of Word and Sacrament. Gethsemane treasurers and maintains the historic pattern of Christian worship that has been drawn from the Scriptures and handed over from generation to generation. While ceremonies and customs have varied somewhat from place to place and at different times throughout history, the structure and elements of Christian worship have remained very stable. You will find a short bulletin outlining the elements particular to a specific service on a table just outside the sanctuary, and the service itself will follow a liturgy in our hymnal, the Lutheran Service Book. If you are unfamiliar with traditional Christian worship or simply have questions about the service feel free to ask for the Pastor or one of the Elders of the congregation. For specifics on our communion practice see our What We Believe section.
